Freedom Project graduates are enrolled in competitive four year colleges and universities around the county including Berea College, Rust College, UNC-Chapel Hill, Mississippi State, University of Mississippi, Louisiana State University, Howard University, University of Southern Mississippi, and the University of the District of Columbia.

As a teacher for the SCFP, I experienced first-hand the power of an inspiring idea in action – the idea that in today’s world, freedom is no longer earned through marches and rallies, but through math and reading.
One lesson that I have learned from the SCFP is that when things get tough, you have to fight those obstacles head-on and don’t let anything hold you back. That’s the only way to come out on top.
I love the Sunflower County Freedom Project because it is like a home away from home and you have another family who helps you and wants you to succeed in life.
