Media Production

The Freedom Project offers classes in media production to help students learn to manipulate the technology of the information age in which they live. Fellows learn how to create video documentaries and produce their own digital projects. In doing so, they develop critical thinking skills with which to analyze the media images and sounds that surround them.

The Media Production Team’s Sankofa documentary told the story of the Civil Rights Movement in Sunflower County and raised questions about how young people can be active in their communities today.

The Media Production Team also maintains the SCFP Student Blog and produces an annual Media Festival at the end of each Fall Semester.
