This week, we were happy to have another visiting group in the building. Every year, students from several Baltimore area high schools embark on a Civil Rights tour throughout the South, taking time to visit landmark locations of the Civil Rights Movement, and to make connections with new people in the communities they visit. This was the second year that they decided to stop by the SCFP while they were in Mississippi, and we were happy to have them!

The Baltimore students and our Freedom Fellows had the chance to get to know each other a little bit and to share experiences. They did an activity where they had to discuss issues of inequality that they see in their communities, and they were asked to come up with a list of actions that they can take to promote positive changes. It was very inspiring to see a room full of young leaders thinking critically about what they can do to have a positive impact on their communities. Check out a few pics from the visit below!
