Freedom Fellows follow this schedule, beginning the summer after their sixth grade year:

Freedom School

Six weeks of intensive classes, including one week at the University of Mississippi, followed by a tour of civil rights sites

After-school study sessions, Saturday classes, mentoring, and martial arts

2nd

Freedom School

Six weeks of intensive classes, including one week at the University of Mississippi, followed by a tour of Civil War sites

3rd

Freedom School

An outdoor leadership trip, followed by six weeks of intensive classes, including one week at the University of Mississippi

Internship

Six weeks working as an intern in a non-profit group, law firm, or government agency in Washington, D.C.
