Residential life is a very big concern for soon-to-be college students. They wonder a lot about whether they should join some kind of Greek organization and maybe live in a frat or sorority house. Some students wonder, should I stay in my own apartment or should I stay at home with mom and dad? Those are all different possibilities that are involved in college. Students who stay in dorms are usually students that live out-of-state or far away from campus. Students who prefer to stay in frat houses are probably part of a Greek organization. That is another example of a college residence. Some students who live in the city where the school is located might even stay at home with their mom and dad. In college you will have a lot responsibilities. You have to make decisions on your own, such as whether to go to a big party the night before you have a big test. You will have to learn how to get up in the morning on your own, because your big brother or little sister is not going to be there. You will also have to walk a lot. Some classes might be several blocks away, so it will be your responsibility to get to class on time. When you come home from classes you shouldn't expect to have a hot meal waiting for you, because your mother is not going to be there to cook your food. You will be responsible for getting something nutritious in your stomach. In college you will have to make very adult decisions and be very self-disciplined. You are really going to be on your own. So you will have to act very mature. |
