College classes can vary. If you are planning to go to college for four years, you might want to decide to go full time, meaning you might need to take 4 to 5 classes at a time. By going full time, you would finish in about four years. However, you can also attend college part time, taking two or three classes at a time. By going part time, you would stay in school twice as long as a person who is going full time. While in college, you will get to choose your own schedule. You can start your classes at what ever time you like. Your first class could begin at 8:00am or it could also begin at 10:00am; it all depends upon what suits you. College classes are one to three hours long, depending on what type of class it is. Majors When you attend a certain college you might want to focus on one subject in an area for a long period of time. This is said to be a major. When you go to college you can major in anything you want. You can also have a dual major. A dual major is when you decide you want to focus on more than one subject at a time. You can also change your major if you feel that it doesn't interest you, or if you want to try something else. But it wouldn't be wise to change your major when you are almost finished with what you started majoring in. It would just be a waste of time. Credits Credits vary; it depends on how many the school requires. Different schools have a different amount that is needed to graduate. Some classes can count for more than one credit. Some classes are also considered to be pass or fail, meaning you don't get a grade. The professor just hands you back all of your work and tells you whether you passed or failed. |
