College is the key to life! Well, according to two of the Sunflower County Freedom Project teachers, Ms. Lee and Ms. Scott, there are times to be serious and times when you and your roommate will disagree about something. You just have to work it out. It's up to you and your roommate to work it out. You can also have fun in college. There will be parties that you may attend, but remember you still have to do your work. You can't stay out all night and then remember that you have to get up the next morning for a quiz. No, you just can't do that. There will be times when your roommate will never want to leave the room. She or he may sometimes have company over when you always come home. Sometimes, when you try to study, your roommate will have the television or radio on so loud that you can't concentrate. There will be Greek shows and parties and even your friends can distract you from your work, but you have to have discipline to ignore it. In college there is no way you can go to bed at 9:30 or earlier, because there is so much to do -- especially studying. College is fun at times, but you have to get your lessons done. You can go and talk to your professor about your grades or about why you skipped your class on that day. Your teachers want you to do well in college. On days when you know you will have a big test, they sometimes give away free breakfast and they have a little Pep Rally. At college you have to do your own laundry and buy your own food. There might be a little argument between you and your roommate about who brought what and who can use what, so it will be better if you bring your own stuff. |
