Chris Myers Asch

Chris Myers Asch taught at East Sunflower Elementary School with Teach for America from 1994 to 1997. He co-founded the Sunflower County Freedom Project in 1998 and served as the Executive Director until 2006 when he left in order to pursue the foundation of the U.S. Public Service Academy. He now coordinates the effort to launch the National Center for Urban Education at the University of the District of Columbia.

Shawn Raymond

Shawn Raymond served as a high school teacher and football coach at Ruleville Central High School in Sunflower County with Teach for America from 1994 to 1996. He then went on to study law at the University of Texas School of Law. While there, Mr. Raymond co-founded the Sunflower County Freedom Project. In 2000, he moved to Houston, Texas to join the Susman Godfrey law firm where he became a partner a short four years later. Mr. Raymond serves as Chairman of the Freedom Project’s Board of Directors.

Gregg Costa

Gregg Costa served as a teacher in Sunflower County as a Teach for America corps member from 1994 to 1996 before attending the University of Texas Law School. As a student, Mr. Costa co-founded the Sunflower County Freedom Project. Mr. Costa currently works for the U.S. Department of Justice as an Assistant United States Attorney.
